Impractical Guide... TOTALLY MISLEADING title.
This book is NOT a manual or practical guide.
If you want to learn how to do fibreglassing, BUY SOMETHING ELSE.
bad how-to-do book although a great academic thesis on fiberglass and all its theory and its compositional attributes of high polymerisation... bla bla bla.. OK I was lost too throught the entire book. This is for someone that masters plastics and wants that higher edge. For beginners it really dont tell you how to start, how to proceed and what really is that you looking for.
needs more how to If your just starting out this is not much help. but combined with other books it can be very heplful.
Title is totally misleading The title for this book is not the correct one. I wanted to buy a book which not only gave me an introduction of the field but gave details and hints of methods. The book gives you a very very general picture of EVERYTHING it talks about. Does not show anything practical except the general idea and theory of the wet lay up and other methods. FIBERGLASS & COMPOSITE MATERIALS - by Forbes Aird is a superior book in this aspect of showing methods, steps, pictures of steps, detailed descriptions of how the shop should be on all aspects from garage shop to industrial size shop and most importantly gives you direct advice and hints based on experience and examples. If the title changed it would be a good but outdated book although I doubt it will be corrected since nobody would buy it.
Fiberglass Very informative. I'm planning on building a house and some parts of the roof are very curvy. I needed to learn how to make and use fiberglass so I could make forms for the curved section. Before I read this book, I didn't know the first thing about Fiberglass. Now I'm getting very good at it.
