Chopper

  • Chopper
  • motorcycle stripped of all the unnecessary parts
  • customized motorcycle style where the front forks are raked and extended

In the early days of motorcycles bikers removed all the unnecessary parts from their motorcycles to lighten them so they could go faster. Parts were literally chopped off the motorcycle coining the phase chopper. Smaller gas tanks were installed and the forks extended and raked often. These were truely custom choppers.

Today a chopper is a style you can buy in the motorcycle store. Factory produced chopper motorcycles that have the bare necessities, a powerful motor, and raked and extended forks have become very common. Today's custom choppers are however set apart from each other by original custom paint jobs and styling.
